| The Council's mission is to fund programs that serve victims of crime and to help victims through legislation, advocacy, training or however deemed necessary. Shelters and safe houses are funded through state marriage surcharges and divorce fees. Our duties expanded to include the administration of federal monies for services to victims of violent crimes. The primary focus of the Council is on sexual assault, domestic violence and child abuse. |
